MARK GREENING: fuori dai With the Dead
All
I am writing this to inform you that unfortunately I will
not be performing in With The Dead with Lee and Tim at the upcoming
shows that have been booked, including Roadburn 2016.
I should
explain that the above isn't news to me. I have been excluded from
dealings with the band and its label, Rise Above Records, since October
2015 and despite several letters and attempts to address the issues as
well as a personal apology on my part over the previous months, I did
not receive any response until late last week.
It is massively disappointing as I want to be there to perform the
tracks that we have written and recorded together as With The Dead, and
whilst I have not left the band, it is clear that I am to be excluded
from its activities for the foreseeable future.
With regards to the dispute, I'll start by saying 'shit happens', it has been an extremely stressful couple of years; ending Ramesses, rejoining one of my earliest bands Electric Wizard, giving up my role in the then newly formed 11 Paranoias and starting work on With The Dead. It may or may not have been my fault for blowing my lid or just being difficult to work with, who knows, hell I am a 38 year old musician with an expertise in doom and extreme music, I have been making music for longer than I care to recall and what you see is what you get.
Unfortunately, last week I received a letter from the corporate law firm instructed to represent Lee, Tim and Rise Above Records and whilst I have been expressly informed that I cannot share the correspondence, it has been made abundantly clear that my exclusion is to continue. It is disappointing as those involved are adults and professional musicians but most importantly, they were my friends, so I thought that we would reach a resolution and that it would blow over. Whilst I had held out hope, I don't have the funds or patience to argue with an ensemble of lawyers about playing drums.
Ultimately, I am there to bash the kit and make the music that I also grew up listening to, it doesn't ever seem to pay too well, despite having contributed to some records that I am extremely proud of, but you know what, I will not let this get me down and I will continue making music that I hope to share with you.
Apologies to anyone who has quizzed me about With The Dead in recent months. On a more positive note, I hope to see you soon.

MARK GREENING: "Time To Die" tolto dal mercato
With The Dead https://www.facebook.com/withthedead.
Restate sintonizzati.

WITH THE DEAD: Il nuovo progetto di Mark Greening
Attendiamo qualche gustosa anticipazione!

MARK GREENING: Past, present and future. Interview with Mark Greening

FOR ITALIAN VERSION CLICK HERE
A very important artist for Stoner/Doom genre, reveals some curiosity about him and his new musical projects! Read out this great interview with Mark Greening conducted by Peter Dul and Mari Knox Knox.
Give us all the run down. You're a big name in the Stoner Metal/Doom Metal community. Some may even say legendary. Tell us who or what your biggest inspirations/influences are and what made you want to take up playing drums? Do you play any other instruments?
M - Drummers like Keith Moon, Ginger Baker & John Bonham. Drummers that stuck out rather than a lot of drummers around that time that just kept to the beat & weren’t very inspiring. I sang in a school band & the drummer would leave his kit in the shed where we rehearsed & one day I just thought I’d give it a go. It seemed like a good way to get aggression out. I can play a little bit of most instruments, just what I’ve picked up along the way. I’ve tried other instruments but always preferred the drums, although I like playing Hammond organ too.
Not a lot of musicians in Doom just start out with playing Doom right away. I myself come from a Grunge and Classic Rock background. Over the years I have found my home with Doom. Did you have a similar route or did you dive into it head first? What do you most like about the genre?
M - The band I played in at school was a retro heavy rock band. Tim & I were really into Black Sabbath & used to play covers for a bit of fun & ended up forming Doom Chapter with Justin, which later became Electric Wizard. I didn’t think of it as Doom, it was just the music I was playing. There wasn’t really many Doom bands around then, it wasn’t really a big thing then, we were just playing what we wanted to & got put into that category. I’ve never really thought about what I like about the genre, I’ve never really listened to that much Doom, I just played what I like playing.

“A local author’s book brings new attention to the abandoned woods where a hippie-commune once stood, resulting in a spate of apparently drug-related deaths but when a group of teenagers decide to get in on the action they learn there’s much more in the woods than bad vibes.”

Seguono aggiornamenti.
"very gutted and sad but unfortunately I will never get to play live the New electric wizard tracks I recorded/written as Liz has sacked me from the band, gutted but electric wizard are no longer the band I once formed with Justin and Tim many moons ago more of a who can dress the most 1970s club, all I can say is at least the New album will be better than the last three.make love not war."

MARK GREENING: Passato, presente e futuro. Intervista a Mark Greening
Suoni altri strumenti?
M - Batteristi come Leith Moon, Ginger Baker e John Bonham.
