MINSK/ZATOKREV: split in uscita

Consouling Sound e Czar of Crickets hanno annunciato l'uscita di uno split album tra Minsk e Zatokrev.

Lo split sarà disponibile a partire dal 5 ottobre ed è intitolato BIGOD e conterrà due brani, entrambi con un ospite alla voce dell'altra band.

KOWLOON WALLED CITY: annunciato il tour europeo

La band di San Farancisco Kowloon Walled City si appresta ad iniziare un tour che li vedrà per la prima toccare il suolo europeo accompagnati dai Minsk.

Saranno in Italia il 25 Agosto a Misano Adriatico

Faranno ascoltare ai loro fan europei il loro ultimo album dal titolo "Grievances" uscito lo scorso anno per l'etichetta Neurot Recordings.

MINSK: The Crash & The Draw (Review)

SLUDGE - POST-METAL

A volte ritornano. Dopo una pausa di alcuni anni, che aveva fatto pensare ad un imminente definitivo scioglimento, i Minsk sono di nuovo tra noi con il loro quarto album in studio, tanto atteso quanto ormai inaspettato. The Crash & The Draw si sottopone prepotentemente alla nostra attenzione, dimostrando sin dal primo ascolto indubbie qualità stilistiche e compositive. 

L'impatto, talmente coinvolgente e frastornante, non lascia spazio a critiche o obiezioni istintive, trascinandoci sempre più a fondo nella sua essenza, ascolto dopo ascolto, come in preda ad una vitale necessità di approfondirne e comprenderne ogni componente.
L'ascolto procede innescando turbamenti emotivi più o meno intensi, che toccano l'apice nel momento in cui l' inscindibile frastuono inizia ad essere percepito quale linguaggio dall'elevata forza comunicativa, entrando misteriosamente in sintonia con la nostra altrettanto complessa e impermeabile interiorità,in un dialogo senza fine.

La complessità che ci sembra di percepire nei primissimi istanti di ascolto, scaturisce dall'inconscia difficoltà di concepire e assorbire quell'enorme quantità di elementi, di relazioni e combinazioni inedite con cui essi vengono resi solidali gli uni con gli altri, secondo una logica che trova nella dissonanza dei suoni e nella loro consistenza quasi fisica, la forza del suo carattere sperimentale.

MINSK: Brano in anteprima dal nuovo album

I Minsk sono pronti a farsi risentire sulla scena con il prossimo "The Crash & The Draw" a partire dai primi giorni di aprile, primo album d'inediti dopo sei anni dal precedente "With Echoes in the Movement of Stone". Per avere un assaggio di ciò che la band ha in serbo è possibile ascoltare "To The Garish Remembrance Of Failure", penultimo pezzo in scaletta e in streaming su Youtube e Soundcloud.

MINSK: Primo video trailer di "The Crash & The Draw" e preorders disponibili

"The Crash & The Draw" è il nuovo ed attesissimo album dei Minsk. Verrà pubblicato questa primavera via Relapse Records a distanza di sei anni dal suo predecessore e sarà composto da undici movimenti che trascendono di gran lunga dai classici confini del post-metal,  dello sludge e della psichedelia.

Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Yob etc.) si è occupato delle registrazioni mentre il mastering è stato curato da Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Indian, Wovenhand, Voivod etc.).

MINSK: Rivelata la tracklist del nuovo album "The Crash & The Draw"

La notizia è ufficiale da ieri, dopo ben 6 anni dall'ultimo lavoro in studio, i Minsk stanno per portare a compimento il nuovo album "The Crash & The Draw".

L'uscita per questa attesissima e nuova creazione, registrata negli Earth Analog Studios e prodotta da Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Yob) è prevista per il 7 Aprile 2015 e verrà diffusa in formato CD, doppio LP e formato digitale, tramite l'etichetta Relapse Records.

Il pre-order sarà disponibile nelle prossime settimane, la band ha inoltre reso di pubblico dominio la tracklist completa di "The Crash & The Draw". Rimaniamo in attesa di novità ed aggiornamenti, desiderosi di ascoltare il nuovo arrivo dei magnetici Minsk.

MINSK: Iniziano le registrazioni per il nuovo album

I Minsk iniziano a lavorare sul nuovo album a distanza di cinque anni dall'ultima uscita discografica. 

Dopo due anni di totale pausa, la band torna rinvigorita e pare abbia pronto il materiale più ambizioso della propria carriera.

Il nuovo album verrà registrato negli studi  Earth Analog studios nei mesi di Luglio e Agosto e sarà prodotto da Sanford Parker. Questo nuovo lavoro non ha ancora un titolo e dovrebbe essere pubblicato nel 2015 via Relapse Records.

BIO:

Minsk was formed in 2002 between the cities of Peoria and Chicago. They soon produced a demo CD entitled Burning, released by Lisa Falzone Recordings around the time of a United States tour and appearance at the Templars of Doom Festival in 2004.[3] In late 2004, Minsk was featured on the compilation If It Plays…, which consisted solely of artists in the Peoria region (hence the title).[4]

The band's first full-length album, Out of a Center Which Is Neither Dead nor Alive, was recorded in late 2004 and released in 2005 on At a Loss Recordings, following appearances at theSouth by Southwest and Emissions from the Monolith festivals. During the recording of the album, Drew McDowell left the band leaving them without a bassist. Sanford Parker,a big fan of Minsk and the guitarist for doom metal band Buried at Sea, who was producing the album at the time, decided to join Minsk as a full-time bassist to replace McDowell and also resumed his production work. He is still today a full-time member of Minsk and a notable underground producer. Soon after Parker joined, founding member and guitarist Dustin Addis left, leaving the band to record Out of a Center Which Is Neither Dead nor Alive as a four piece, with Cristopher Bennett solely in charge of guitar duties. To support the album's release, the band embarked on a nationwide tour supporting many popular metal artists, notably Brutal Truth, High on Fire, Boris, Sunn O))), and Pig Destroyer.[3]

Following the tour, Minsk prepared to record their second album, The Ritual Fires of Abandonment, which was released February 2007 through Relapse Records who signed them immediately because of their growth in popularity and positive reception of their debut.[5] After its release, Minsk went on another United States tour in support, reappearing at the South by Southwest and Emissions from the Monolith festivals in addition to several east coast stops. The band released their 3rd LP, With Echoes in the Movement of Stone, on Relapse Records in 2009.

After 6 years of silence, Minsk has finish recorded their upcoming fourth album, The Crash and the Draw which will be release via Relapse Records in North America on April 7th, 2015, April 3rd, 2015 in Germany, Benelux and Finland and April 6th, 2015 in the UK and rest of the world. This album was captured by the band alongside Sanford Parker at Earth Analog in Tolono, mixed by Parker and Minsk at Hypercube in Chicago, and mastered by Collin Jordan at The Boiler Room in Chicago with additional vocal tracking by Scott Evans at Antisleep Audio in Oakland, California and further tracking, editing, and mixing by Kevin Rendleman at Trash Rocket Audio and Aaron Austin at We Know Who You Are, both in Peoria. The record includes the striking cover creation of Orion Landau. [6]
