THE SHRINE: pronto un nuovo EP

Risale al 2016 l'ultimo album dei The Shrine (Rare Breed) e al 2017 la loro ultima registrazione in studio (il pezzo I Can't Control It), che sembrava aver aggiunto una chitarra al gruppo californiano.

L'annuncio di un nuovo EP li vede invece tornare nella classica formazione a tre, con l'unica differenze che a suonare il basso c'è adesso Corey Parks, storica bassista dei Nashville Pussy.

Il nuovo EP si intitola Cruel World e sarà pubblicato in vinile e formato digitale il 3 maggio su Eliminator Records. In basso trovate copertina, tracklist e streaming del brano Dance on a Razor's Edge.

DESERTFEST BERLIN: nuove aggiunte al cartellone

Va ulteriormente arricchendosi il cartellone del Desertfest Berlin, giunto ormai all'ottava edizione ed in programma dal 3 al 5 maggio presso l'arena di Berlino.

L'irresistibile power trio californiano The Shrine ha annunciato ieri la pubblicazione del loro nuovo studio album Rare Breed, che sarà disponibile a partire dal 30 ottobre.

Si tratta del loro primo disco sotto Century Media Records e, a giudicare dalla copertina, promette tematiche alla Full Metal Jacket.

Nel frattempo è stato anche fatto uscire il primo estratto dell'album, il videoclip di Death to Invaders. Ovviamente vi raccomandiamo di alzare il volume prima di vederlo.

PSYCHEDELIC VIOLENCE ROCK 'N' ROLL

Chiunque abbia scritto che sono i figliocci bastardi di Black Flag e Black Sabbath ci ha preso in pieno.

Gli Shrine sono una di quelle band che tra una decina d'anni potrò dire con orgoglio di aver visto dal vivo all'inizio della loro carriera. Perché è assolutamente fuori discussione che siano una delle più autentiche espressioni di rock 'n' roll viste in questo nuovo millennio.
Dopo l'eccellente esordio Primitive Blast e numerosissimi concerti al seguito di Fu Manchu, Earthless e Red Fang, i tre selvaggi di Venice Beach rincarano la dose con questo nuovo Bless Off che, vi assicuro, vi farà venir voglia di pogare con i muri. Preparatevi a scapocciare e a fare air guitar come ai bei vecchi tempi, è semplicemente impossibile resistere alla loro formula musicale, un perfetto mix di hard rock anni '70, hardcore punk anni '80 con una spruzzata di NWOBHM a condire il tutto.

RED FANG: Parte il tour Europeo e live al Late Show di David Letterman

Chi li ha visti almeno una volta dal vivo non può che ritenerli una droga e quindi non possiamo esimerci da ricordare che questo fine settimana parte il tour Europeo dei Red Fang.

La band sarà spalleggiata da Lord Dying e The Shrine e il tutto partirà da Svizzera e Francia ma toccheranno anche il nostro paese alla fine di Gennaio. Per avere un quadro completo delle date della band potete cliccare QUI.

BIO:

"On the night of November 6th, 1979 Black Sabbath was at their most drug addled and explosive standing. They were on tour supporting their newly released Never Say Die album and had a night off in Los Angeles. After knocking back a few drinks at the infamous Rainbow Bar, they decided to check out the local rock scene at the Whiskey A-Go-Go. Arriving late, they caught the tail end of a set by The Circle Jerks. Feeling intimidated yet inspired, they rented a rehearsal space and spent the rest of the night jamming. For an unknown reason they exclusively played Thin Lizzy material and Keith Moon was sitting in… These events never took place. But if they did, the results may have sounded similar to Los Angeles’s The Shrine. Formed in 2008, The Shrine play a houserocking breed of heavy, psychedelic, riff based Rock n’ Roll. Their debut, recorded on vintage reel-to-reel tape, by local hero Dave O. Jones and under the auspices of the notorious Chuck Dukowski, is the perfect soundtrack to any debaucherous gathering of longhairs. If you and your rag-tag group of riff-raff friends are planning a road trip to Humboldt County to “Score”, this is the album you need to be listening to on the way.
