BANDA DE LA MUERTE: Pulso De Una Mente Maldita

HEAVY ROCK, STONER

BANDA DE LA MUERTE: Pulso De Una Mente Maldita

HEAVY ROCK, STONER

What would you expect from a band called Band Of The Death proposing a full-length called Impulse Of A Cursed Mind?

Nothing good, you would say.
And you’d be wrong.
All the opposite, Banda De La Muerte propose a pure adrenalin 9-track.
Stoner? For Sure. Sludge? Maybe. Punk? Absolutely. Heavy? Not even to be asked.
A huge percentage of each of these genres can be found in Pulso De Una Mente Maldita, letting this album make your neck move, getting to the end with no perception of time passing by. They can be found separatly here, but how interesting it would be to hear a letal mix of all of them! – and this four Argentinian guys are surely able to do this.
A powerful drum, which doesn’t allow you to rest, with its continuous betas that seem to break the drum heads and to go through your headphones; heavy-metal distortions lying incredibly at their ease on every above mentioned genre, so rubbing, lacerating, pleasantly caustic; a bass guitar perfectly playing in its role between rhythmic and melodic, with that profound sound melting your soul ad your will, proudly facing the prima donnas: guitar and voice, a voice that doesn’t accept to be misunderstood, talking in Spanish, mostly rough, dirty, aggressive – and effected to sound double, the same duplicity found in an insane mind. Insane like those ever-present feedbacks, which open and close the album, like that frequent blink to noise and dissonance, so disturbing, so pleasant.
And suddenly the genius come out, the turning point which makes you understand that “yes, there’s something different in us”, that widen your eyes and makes you nod, satisfied: keyboards. Not that one in a 70s hammond style, but a black metal style keyboard, which definitely accompanies this stonerish music.
Check out if you don’t believe: you can find them in Tiempo Muerto and even better in Hombre Muerto Caminando.
Among the tracks two in particular, in my opinion, have to be praised: Espiritu En Paz and En Contra Del Destino, placed at the heart of the album, whose riffs would make even the bravest mind crumble!
Banda De La Muerte are both fun and angry, a second step in their discography which pave for them a really promising path!

BANDA DE LA MUERTE - PARTE DE MI HISTORIA

lunedì 1 agosto 2011

BANDA DE LA MUERTE

BIO:

From Argentina, a referent country of the Spanish speaking rock and home of very important bands like Pappo’s Blues, Vox Dei, Pescado Rabioso, comes Banda de la Muerte, one of the most burning acts of the local scene. Each of the four members of the quartet comes from emblematic origins in the Buenos Aires’ stoner and metal underground scene, as for example Jesus Martyr and Motosierra.
The band has been influenced in its origins by the most primitive Black Sabbath and the heavy riffs of Melvins cut by Black Flag’s dissonant and provocative attitude.
Banda de la Muerte’s style synthesizes the stoner and doom essence from which it comes from with the typical hardcore punk nervousness and the sludge asphyxia, always with very personal feature which coins the legendary elements of the local rock ancestors.
From its foundation in 2009, the band prides itself for being part of the South American Sludge movement having shared the Buenos Aires city arena with their friends of Los Natas, Poseidotica, Dragonauta. It has also been beyond Argentinean boundaries touring internationally with Cultura Tres (Ven) and Hielo Negro (Chi) at the beginning of 2011.
The first band’s record was launched in 2009 by Zonda Records. The record has deserved reviews from the specialized press such as Rolling Stone and Jedbangers Magazines. It has also been reviewed by specialized web sited and TV media such as MTV, Much Music, The Sleeping Shaman, Heavy Planet etc. Their sophomore album “Pulso de una Mente Maldita” was released on March29th simultaneously with their first European shows. The tour took them to The Netherlands, UK, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. Stay on the look-out for more to come from these guys. Because nobody has more zest for life than the Band of the Death!
